My grandfather, an accountant was born in Europe. Like the rest of my grandparents. He moved from Europe to Buenos Aires, Argentina for work. Even though he had visited the United States and had friends from Europe living there he wasn't ready to leave and abandon his European culture and ways. He spent most of his life in Argentina and traveled to the USA for business and also saw his friends. Throughout my youth, because of my grandfathers influence, I traveled back and forth from Argentina to America and some to Europe. Therefore, when I was growing up, I was exposed to a vast array of cultures; European, Argentine, American and a mixture of these and others. This experience enriched my life forever. Most predominately the cultural roots had contacts through the family business called, "Norway". "Norway", a small men's and woman's department store, in Buenos Aires, Argentina. The retail business helped me stay connected to the rest of the world. Since I had always been so immersed with diverse culture, I decided to get a degree in International Studies that included a double major in Economics and Politics and a minor in Spanish from the University of Michigan. These studies proved valuable for me. They have helped me to better see and analyze trends in the business world in addition to helping me better communicate with others. My specialty is putting economics and political science information together to help forecast future trends. My knowledge of different languages and cultures is invaluable has helped make me an expert in the field of marketing. In addition to all this I also like using my computer skills to communicate, whether it be with social media or to create a corporate presentation or to take digital photographs and edit them. I spent a few years working mostly in New York City in Corporate America fortune 500 companies creating digital corporate presentations and assisting as a consultant to corporations on how to go digital. From there, I became an expert in the field I was working in and my primary job was writing books on using digital media for the purpose of creating presentations etc. After various years doing this type of work, I toned down my career to spend more time with my kids. I only worked at home writing books. After doing this for various years and decided to focus more on my artistic side and started my own business doing consulting work and artwork. This lead to creating and selling my own jewelry line. I expanded my company and sold my jewelry at Henri Bendel and; Saks Fifth Avenue. As my kids aged, I continued to work close to home. I helped out at their school. I was a cheerleading coach and I helped out in the hair and; make-up department of the drama department etc. Then, as I felt ready to dabble with the notion of working outside the home, I went back into the work field first as a substitute teacher. This job allowed me to have flexibility of having the same schedule as them. I slowly got back into the retail business. I started working just a few hours and then increased my work load as I found I could fit into my schedule. I originally thought that working in retail would just be a "hobby" but I have found it to be much more and to be very fulfilling. I have also found that after years of experience in the field that, I am very natural at and so I am also very successful. I love being a visionary and helping employees and; customers see how they can take advantage of new innovative products. I am always in the forefront of technology and fit/health conscious eager to share with others how to put it to good use in ways to better their lives - whether it be a pair of shoes with the 'right fit' that will help them conquer their day or a new outfit that will work it for them and lead them to lots of future successes. etc Most recently, to add to my experience my work has led me to focus my energy more on the "American Look & Style". I have enjoyed working for some very lovely American retail companies such as; Ann Taylor, Jones New York & Nine West to Lord & Taylor. etc Bonita Vida Inc. ----------------- May 2000 - Present President Westport, CT Consultant / Artist/ Author/ Designer/ Fashionista * Consultant - International and Domestic Marketing Research. JOB EXPERIENCE in CT ---------------------- Lord & Taylor Sales Specialist/Stylist Stamford, CT ------------- August 2015 to June 2018 I first started at Lord & Taylor in Stamford, Ct as a shoe specialist and then moved onto selling woman's active wear, swim wear, lingerie, dresses and accessories etc. Focusing selling items that help make the woman with a busy life schedule more comfortable and being more ready and able to meet their daily goals. How I became a shoe specialist?! Even though I have had many accomplished years in the retail business and the corporate world, I owe a large portion of my success in selling shoes to my extensive and intense years of ballet and horse back riding. These two activities have been past time passions of mine throughout my life. The years spent here, doing these activities has taught me how a good shoe and; boot should fit and feel. I truly believe that no other experience could have leant me this type of knowledge (except maybe also some of my ice-skating & skiing years that required me to find the right shoe fit for places & times when I was going out of my comfort zone). All these type of hands on experiences have made me a very successful shoe salesperson. With these skills and the added help of my cultural background I offer a unique style that is different than the rest but still remains within the norm of conservativeness with a fun/comfy feel to it. Because of all this I believe that I am a very valuable 'fashionista'. I truly believe I am irreplaceable. Somebody may be able to step into my shoes and perform my job for me in my absence but never be able to replace the job that I am capable of doing. I enjoy sharing my knowledge with my customers. They give back to me just as much as I give them by sharing our knowledge & experiences. Together we make a 'good fit'. At Lord & Taylor Stamford my job requirements involve being a full-time sales associate in charge of selling ladies shoes, whom also plays the role of a fashionista and when needed a cashier to ring up sales, do returns, place special orders assist with opening & closing procedures and open/close the register. As a full-time sales associate I assist customers in finding either a comfortable and fashion savvy shoe for their everyday needs or that just right shoe for their special occasions. As a Stylist, I help customers find a shoe that can be used to accessorize and make an outfit or simply complement it!! I sell any where from $6,000 to $12,000 shoes a week. The most important part of my job is to make sure that each and every customer leaves with the feeling that they will be better suited to perform their everyday functions. They leave confident and know that not only do they have the most comfortable shoes they can find but they have also a pair of shoes that they adore & love to wear. Everyone feels good wearing a comfy shoe they also feel good about how they look in them. With the right 'shoe' you can create the performance of a life time! That in itself is worth a million. No price tag can be placed on that type of life experience. . . Nine West / Jones Group Inc. ------------------------------- http://www.jonesgroupinc.com/ April, 2014 to August 2015 Manager on Duty & Stylist Norwalk, CT At Nine West, I am part of the management team that takes care of having the store look it's best. That involves keeping up with visual standards. Tasks involved are; making sure that both store & window displays are all in order. Use of pdf files on the stores iPad is used to insure that the proper guidelines are followed. The iPad is also used to keep up on merchandising / product notes. These notes are also stored in pdf format. Daily functions also include receiving new shipment and placing the new inventory in their proper places on the selling floor, according to company floor plan and putting overstock in the stock room. Another task involves marking down items using a handheld digital device and putting them in the clearance section when required. I am also responsible for having the store meet it's metrics. Not only do I keep track of the store's daily, week, month and yearly numbers but I also oversee how other employees are doing. This process includes, creating a daily goal chart for the day and working with a team of associates to coach them along to meet those daily goals. I then also assist in creating monthly review reports for associates. A very helpful piece of information that I use to track metric is received via e-mail everyday. They are two pdf files that contain information in chart & graph format. They show how the store is doing with it's sales & amount of traffic the store is receiving. The data is broken down on an hourly basis and by day. This information allows me to see what part of the day has the highest amount of sales & traffic. With this information in mind I can create out to other employees and work with them to create an hourly and daily plan. I also correspond, as needed, with various other members of the company, such as the District Manager etc of the company to insure that everything is running smoothly. Wherever I go, my customers follow me for quality service and expert advice. They not only leave happy and spread the word and increase my following but they also help me and my team of workers assure that the stores goals are met monthly or at least help get close to them. In addition to all of these job functions, I also perform daily opening and closing routines, ring up purchases and returns along with processing special orders. Work Achievements & 9W: ------------------------ Did it again in 2015 - !! I had my biggest sale ever selling just shoes & handbags. The total sale was slightly over $1,000 dollars. I got me to be on the top ten list. In the 9West Outlet Retail Review for the week of June 20th I came in 7th for World Class Service for the entire 9West outlet in all of United States. I achieved a Multi score of 98.11% which placed me in 7th place. The top score was 111.11%. For the week of June 13th I achieved a Multi score of 96.6% which placed me in 10th place. The top score was 133.3%. For 2015 9West is tracking top performance based on Multiples rather than Upt. The Muliples of a sales is the number where two or more pairs of shoes are sold in any given transaction. To end the 2014 year on a good note I count my successes here: Just in time, before the year ended, I was finally able to extend my personal selling success to the rest of my team so that they could reach the 9 West's UPT goal of a 2.2 and for myself a desired UPT goal. For the week of 12/27/2014 my UPT was 4.23 With this UPT increase, my monthly UPT goal for the month of December was 2.85 and for the year 2.4 For the week of 12/27/2014, my ADS was $126.08 and for the month of December 89.03 and for the year $80.22 From April to the end of 2014, my total sales figure was $125,225.60 For the 2014 Holidays, I have been appointed the store's Ambassador for donations to St. Jude. We exceeded last years goal before the drive ended. Due to my success in selling, for the Month of November I mainly worked with other associates in the store trying to help them increase their numbers. Even with this in mind, I was still able to pull off some nice figures. I worked with my customers to achieve $13,260 worth of sales of shoes & Accessories. 13% of these items were accessories; wallets, handbags, belts & boot & flats socks. My UPT (units per transaction) for this period was 2.66 which increased my year to date UPT to 2.37 My ADS(average dollar sale) for this month was: $94.72, Multi(the # of transactions where 2 or more shoes are sold): 88.4% and SPH(Sales per Hour)/ACT $170.29 From April to October as a part-time salesperson/stylist employee I have sold $102,528 worth of shoes for Nine West which helped eliminate the store's deficit. That makes it a 15.4% contribution to their total dollar sale in-take for the year. I have surpassed my goal by $15,732.56. My UPT (units per transaction) for the year up to date was 2.34 MY ADS(average dollar sale): $77.97, Multi(the # of transactions where 2 or more shoes are sold): 72.7% and SPH (Sales per Hour) $153.30 From just the month of October, I have sold $25,433.29 worth of shoes for Nine West. That makes it a 15.4% contribution to their total dollar sale in-take for this month. I have surpassed my goal by $2,648.29. My UPT (units per transaction) for this period was 2.55 My ADS(average dollar sale): $111.06, Multi(the # of transactions where 2 or more shoes are sold): 83.4% and SPH(Sales per Hour)/ACT $231.30 These number do not reflect the amount of money I help generate in the store when I am a manager on duty. When I am managing the store, generally either I make my personal sales goal before any other employees enter the store or after they have made theirs. Occasionally I work with them to help meet the daily stores goals. Then I generate sales for the associates and myself. For the week of August 9th, 2014 On the World Class Service report I made the top 10 list for the Nine West Outlet Associate in all of the United States for having the highest UPT (units per transaction)for the week. I tied for the 5th place with a UPT of 2.70. By doing so I also put our store in the top 5 performing slot - we were the 5th store within the Nine West Outlet group to have it's overall composite percentage. This information is found in the Nine West Outlet weekly newsletter that is organized by the Senior Vice President, Director of Stores. For the week of August 16th, 2014 On the World Class Service report I made the top 10 list for the Nine West Outlet Associate in all of the United States for having the highest UPT (units per transaction)for the week. I tied for the 2nd place with a UPT of 2.90. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- Most importantly, at Nine West I help train associates in assisting customers find what they are looking for! This includes suggesting a shoe for the right occasion along with maybe a handbag or belt to go with it. Also involved in this interaction are suggestions on what else to wear with the new shoes. Possibly also recommending some Jones New York attire to go with the shoes. Finding the right shoe is everything. It not only has to look nice but it also has to be comfortable. The 'right' shoe can either make an outfit or not. Remember how important the right shoe was for Cinderella - ? it meant everything to her! It changed her whole entire life. What can it do for you? The options are limitless . . . Nine West - http://www.ninewest.com/ ------------------------------------ Just a little note about myself - Before I joined the retail business, I was an Ann Taylor customer. I was also Jones New York customer. In High School, when I worked at Saks Fifth Avenue, Jones New York was my favorite designer because they were the first to carry fashionable wardrobe items for special sizes such as petites and now very also carry plus sizes. I was immediately taken in by the quality of their hi-fashion clothes in petite sizes. I was overjoyed by the fact that the clothes could easily be washed and worn for both work and fun. By working at Jones NY / Nine West I am going back to my 'roots'. Allowing me to continue to create fun & fashionable looks that are inspiring to look & wear and work not only for everyday but can also be used for special occasions, work and travel etc! Jones New York - http://www.jny.com -------------------------------------- At Nine West, I use the 9W Loves Star card program to get the job done well. For a successful retail day it's important to be knowledgeable about the company you work for in addition to the products and then be able to share it with other company members & customers. As a manager, it's necessary to share all this information with the associates that one is working with so that they can properly also help customers. I can't emphasize enough how vital it is to live by these two Star cards that Nine West has created. All the rest of the Star cards complement these two; 'Respond and Earn the Sale' by 'Being a Fit Expert' and 'Asking for the Sale'. Being a Fit Expert consists of knowledge about the products in all it's facets and of course then being confident that one knows what the customers needs are all about and bringing these two components together. The Asking for the Sale Star card is about understanding the customer. That means knowing whether they are a 'seasonal customer', 'trend driven', 'special occasion', 'work shoe shopper', 'a fit - challenged' or 'comfort customer'. Keeping up with the product and customers is a daily process that involves a lot of work. There is no time to relax, because there is alway something new to be learned. There is no time to stay stagnant if one wants to be successful! A way for a customer to get more involved in their shopping experience at Nine West is to be enrolled in the 9WLoves rewards program. Enrolled in this program not only will customers be rewarded by shopping at Nine West by earning points that will give them money back that they can use to shop for new items but they will also be updated on new products that they may be interested on via e-mail. For more information on the 9WLoves program check out this link - -------------------- http://www.ninewest.com/on/demandware.store/Sites-ninewest-Site/default/NineLoves-Show The key to my Success in Retail: ------------------------------------ First and for most, I greet every customer as if I was the host of a party of an important event. I try to let them all feel welcome and kindly tell them everything that is going on in the event that I am hosting. That means always doing my research and being up to date with the companies policies, products and it's promotions. With that in mind, I give every customer time & space feel to feel welcome. I don't want to over do it. I lend a helping hand in a natural and laid back manner when ever needed. I check back with them to give them an honesty & friendly opinion or suggestion to help them decide what will work best for them and their wardrobe. The process is so natural that it is as if I were another customer in the fitting room commenting on how nice I liked a particular item that they were wearing. Thanks to them, I might even consider buying a pair myself and of course sharing with others about the wonderful find. Ann Taylor ----------- October, 2011 to April, 2014 Stylist Westport, CT Empowering woman so that they can dress the part and do the things that are required of them in their daily lives and beyond. Responsible for putting together the right looks. This includes helping customers achieve the desired 'styles' for their special moments in their lives; such as a job interview, attending a wedding, shower, baptism, out to dinner, for a hot date or just to wear casually for ones everyday needs. It's all about creating the right look that makes them look their best! I am an expert in putting together working clothes; a nice top with pants or skirt, a dress or a Business Suit accompanied by the right top and accessories for interviews and/or for everyday use at the office. This comes easy to me because of my vast background in working in Corporate America in NYC for many years and my work experience in Europe and Argentina. Helping satisfy customer's needs is like second nature to me because I have been in the retail business all my life. Growing up I was always a part of my family retail business in Buenos Aires, Argentina. My work with the family retail business has been invaluable to my success in life! By the time I was in Junior High I was able to have a 'real job' in the retail industry. Then in High school, I got my first job outside the family business working at the Saks Fifth Avenue in the Somerset Mall in Troy, Michigan. I also worked there on weekends & Holidays while I went to college. At Saks Fifth Avenue I worked in all the departments, from woman, men & children clothing to cosmetics, to promotions and Holiday gift wrapping. The work that I did there was a wealth of knowledge that not only helped me in the Retail industry but also in all other aspects of my life. After having worked at Saks Fifth Avenue I went back to work at the family clothing business store in Buenos Aires, Argentina. These experiences combined prepared me for the workforce in the Corporate World. Having grown up in both countries (Argentina & America) has allowed me be able to be Bilingual & Bi-cultural. Knowing more than one language is a very important skill that has helped me to communicate better with people in both English and in Spanish. Every customer receives special treatment, helping them maximize their wardrobes. Showing ways to wear the same item in different manners can help them get the full benefit of each and every piece of clothing so that it becomes a valuable accessory in their closets. By livening up everything it gives their wardrobe a whole new, fresh look to it. I explain to them how they can wear any item more once by mix and matching different pieces together giving everything a whole new look & feel to it but still looking just as fabulous as it did the first time they wore it. Having an item work for you instead of having you to work for it is what it's all about. To make every look complete, I not only help customers find the right outfit but also the right accessories and components that will really bring everything together and make them look the part. This also includes suggesting and sharing hair & make-up tips. On the days that I am at work, I always review the merchandise in the store so that it is fresh in my mind and I am better able to service the customer. I also keep up with the company's social media outlets, like their website, Pinterest Facebook account, and blog to see what is new and how they are presenting and sharing it with the customers. On a quarterly basis we receive a style guide booklet to review and work with so that we are familiar with the new merchandise. Their I have an opportunity to share with my colleagues my suggestions on how I would put together the separate pieces from that particular collection. By taking great care in understanding both the merchandise that I work with and by being in touch with the needs of the independent, modern day woman of today I can satisfy both the customer's needs & those of the companies. On any given day that I am at work, I can easily double the amount of merchandise sold in the Ann Taylor store. I am always aware of the daily metrics and keep in touch with it's progress. Those numbers include the Net sales, ROV (net sales % # of visits), conversion rate, DPT, UPT, visits, number of transactions and how many credit card applications have been opened. I am proud to say that I have contributed to having the store reach it's goal for various different months when I exceled with my sales. At Ann Taylor, another role that I perform is in assisting that the store looks the part and carries out it's role. That could mean helping a new employee understand the store workflow and how to use the register. I also help organize and set the Store for special events & promotions. A few other duties include; Working on window displays and organizing the merchandise with in the store. Marking down sale & full price merchandise then placing them in their appropriate locations. Bringing inventory from the back room out into the floor as needed. Locating items on the floor to fill on-line orders. Working on the Cash register to assist in sales, returns, opening new Ann Taylor credit cards, processing gift certificates, processing Ann Taylor credit card payments for customers and placing special orders for them. I also assist in opening the store in the morning and closing it in the evenings. Part of my duties when I open the store is to go to bank and make deposits and get change if necessary and when I help close the store, I also help count the extra cash and checks from the days transactions. In addition, also pre & process inventory control every year.
